Ghost Song

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a long time.  Eastwind only has one place on the edge of the community where I can access the internet and I rarely get up here.  Here's a song I just wrote.  I don't have a recording yet, but we do have a recording studio which i should really become familiar with.
Ghost
The ghost of the past
The size of the life it encompasses
 Pulls you back
As you try to anticipate how it will haunt you next

But you must realize
That you are more than the flesh and blood that
Hold you back
Awaken to the dawn burning in your eyes

Let go of your ghost
Its just a memory that fades when you
Open your eyes
To the new day that surrounds you

Even the dark
Can’t banish this light
the present reveals
When you silence your mind

And realize that you are
All that fills your eyes

I spent a lifetime haunted by
A ghost I could never escape
Until I looked into God’s eyes
And from my slumber I did wake

And I realized that even when this body passes away
That I would never die because only my ghost dissipates

Until that day
Nothing meant anything to me
And darkness reigned
So long as I desired not to see

But when I opened my eyes
that moment I glimpsed the divine
I was changed
And my mind was clarified

And all I felt was love
For all I could see

All lives have these moments where
Everything falls into place
But then they disappear as they came:
Without a trace

But if you let go of your desire
Ghosts wont chase those moments away
And you’ll live forever in this love
That greets you like a brand new day

So let go of your ghost
Its just a memory that fades when you
Open your eyes
To the new day that surrounds you

Even the dark
Can’t banish this light
the present reveals
When you silence your mind

And realize that you are
All that fills your eyes

Lost Between These Walls

No home and no job.  I am ensconced in chaos.  I'd like to feel I wear it well, but I fear I am not the person I wish I was.  I am a seeker of freedom and no walls enclose me, yet I am litterally building them up as you read this.  Everything we create must be maintained.  Man's creation requires his constant re-creation of creation.

Just as the pyramids are slowly grinding down into sand, so my identity slowly disintegrates even as I try to grasp at the grains as they fly away.
I cannot re-create what I thought I was, but I still long for the illusion of that past self...

It used to be that I looked towards the immediacy of the future and saw myself in everything -saw everything as myself, saw God, saw Identity, saw One.  Now I look forward and see nothing - uncertainty, Being, Void.

Buddhists try to rid themselves of ego.  "No-self"they call it.  But the most enlightened among them admit that this is impossible.  Even the egoless always has a minimal presence.  A minimal ego that lets there be an attaining of "no-self".  The smaller the ego, the harder it is to shatter.  If it shatters, however, the void bears down that much harder and the seeker of light finds darkness that much more blinding...
